Discover the best time for your Family Holiday in Jordan

The best times to visit are during April - May and September- November. So it is a perfect trip for the Easter holidays or October half term. During this time the weather is warm, but not too hot for visiting many of the sites. During October half term you may need a jumper for the evenings, especially if you plan to visit the desert.

 
 
  • In the winter months of January and February Jordan becomes very cold and it is not unusual for some areas, such as Petra to experience snowfall. January is also one of the wettest months of the year.

  • March is the beginning of spring in Jordan and the country startd to emerge from the chilly winter temperatures. It is still alow season to visit Jordan and you will find less crowds at all the sites. If you plan to visit the desert you will need a few layers of the evenings as the nights are cool.

    April and May are popular times for a family holiday as the temperatures are starting to warm up, but not like the stifling heat of the summer months, The forests and valleys are lush and colourful after the winter rains.

  • The temperatures of the summer can reach 42 degrees, although it is a dry heat. So, if you plan to visit in the summer we recommend that you plan your itinerary we;ll to avoid the midday sun and have the ability to find some shady areas.

  • September sees the start of the temperatures starting to cool from the intense summer heat, but are still pleasantly warm.

    This is a lovely time to visit the country.

  • December is the start of the winter season in Jordan, with temperatures plummeting with rain and snow likely to fall throughout most the country. It means that the sites will all be quiet and so a good time to visit if you don;t mind the changeable weather.
