If you are looking for a little bit of sunshine and some sightseeing, the city breaks of Lisbon and Porto make for a nice mini getaway over February or October half term. The beaches of the Algarve are popular during the summer months with the array of activities they have for all members of the family.

The temperatures are comfortable at this time of the year, it is not unusual to experience warm sunny days at the end of February. This makes for a nice time to visit the cities with fewer crowds than you will find later in the year.

As the temperatures begin to rise from the winter and the country enters the spring season it is a lovely time to visit with many festivals also happening at this time of year.

This is the peak time for visiting Portugal with visitors and locals heading to the beaches of the Algarve. As the temperatures peak throughout July and August being near to the coast gives some welcomed breeze. This time of year is less comfortable for sightseeing in the towns.
