Ecuador and the Galapagos
Experience Unique Wildlife, Vibrant Rainforests, and Rich Culture on Your Family Holiday to Ecuador and the Galápagos
A luxury family holiday to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands promises the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and unparalleled natural beauty. From exploring lush rainforests to encountering unique wildlife in the Galapagos, there are a wealth of experiences for families seeking luxury and adventure.
Ecuador is a country known for its diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and warm hospitality. Most trips begin in the capital city of Quito, which has a well-preserved historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can explore colonial architecture, bustling markets, and vibrant plazas.
From here many families then venture into the Amazon Rainforest, one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth. Here, stay at an eco-lodge nestled in the heart of the jungle, where guided excursions offer opportunities to spot exotic wildlife, including monkeys, colorful birds, and elusive jaguars. You’ll also discover the mystical cloud forests of Ecuador with their lush vegetation and cascading waterfalls.
There is a range of accommodation available across Ecuador , from stays in boutique hotels and historic haciendas in Quito, to stays in luxury lodges perched high in the mountains, offering breathtaking views and exclusive access to hiking trails and other activities.
After exploring the mainland you can fly to the Galapagos Islands, a remote archipelago renowned for its extraordinary wildlife and pristine landscapes. Here, families can embark on a luxury expedition to explore the many islands and their unique wildlife. The luxury cruise liners offer spacious cabins, many with adjourning rooms for families if you don’t want to all be in the same room, gourmet dining and an array of activities. Being small in size they also offer an intimate experience. Expert naturalist guides lead daily excursions to different islands, where you can snorkel with sea lions, hike volcanic landscapes, and observe iconic species such as giant tortoises and blue-footed boobies.
If you are seeking a more intimate experience or if cruising is not for you rent a private villa or stay in a hotel on one of the inhabited islands, such as Santa Cruz or Isabela. With exclusive access to secluded beaches we can arrange personalised experiences tailored to your family's interests.
Whichever way you choose to explore the Galapagos you can find an array of family friendly activities, including kayaking along pristine coastlines, visiting the Charles Darwin Research Station, and educational programs designed for children offering opportunities to learn about conservation and marine biology in a fun way.
Whilst we normally don’t like to be restricted by the ages of children and some of the boats in the Galapogas accept children from 5 years old we recommend waiting until children are 8 years or older to be able to get the most out of joining into all the activities.
