Day 1 - Private Food Tour in Reykjavik
Your private driver will meet you at the airport – transfer to your Reykjavik hotel.
Your guide will meet you in the lobby of the hotel for a private food walk in Reykjavik. Together with your guide you will visit everything from well-known ‘must visit restaurants’ to small family run businesses and secret local hangouts. You will explore why the Icelanders are so proud of local food by focusing on the absolute most delicious traditional cuisines.
Day 2 - Lava Tunnel & Horseback Riding
Morning departure for the Lava tunnel experience. This is a unique experience and a great opportunity to witness the inner workings of a volcanic eruption. Every winter spectacular ice sculptures are formed inside the entrance of the cave.
In the afternoon enjoy at private horseback riding tour. Travel on horseback is growing in popularity and Icelandic horsemen are respectful and considerate when it comes to nature, just as they are with their horse.
Day 3 - Husky Sledding, Thingvellir and Gullfoss
Meet your guide in the lobby of the hotel and depart for a private husky sledding experience (location to be decided later – weather dependent, snow conditions)
Continue to Thingvellir – outstanding national park, the jewel in the crown of Iceland’s historical sights. The undulating landscape of Thingvellir encompasses lava formations, crevasses, rivers and a waterfall. Lunch stop at Fridheimar farm – a welcoming, friendly Icelandic family-run business. It’s primarily a working farm, but is also a restaurant, an organic tomato producer and a horse-breeding stables.Continue to Haukadalur valley to see the famous Geysir. It has been active for as long as 10,000 years,and eruptions can hurl boiling water as high as 70 metres into the air. Your next stop is majestic Gullfoss waterfall.
Day 4 - Glacier walk and ATV
In the morning you will embark on a private glacier walk at the picturesque glacier outlet Sólheimajökull (a part of the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap) on the south coast of Iceland nearby Skógar and Vík. Continue further south in the afternoon and land at the south shore for a private ATV tour - from the base you head down to the black lava sands, crossing small rivers on the way. The black lava sand derives from previous glacial outbursts of the dormant volcano Katla.
Day 5 - Vik & the Northern Lights
In the morning - meet your glacier guide at Vik, where you will climb into the super jeep and head high up into the mountains for an exhilarating ride towards the glacier. South Iceland is certainly spectacular from "below” but nothing tops experiencing it from "above”. Join a private snowmobile tour to Eyjafjallajokull glacier - an extraordinary experience.
Late in the evening - go out to the winter night and experience the thrill of hunting for the Northern lights.
Day 6 - Blue Lagoon
Enjoy time at leisure at this beautiful 5-star resort, which has it's own private beachIn the morning – you have the option for a private helicopter sightseeing trip. Before spending the afternoon relaxing at the Blue Lagoon, one of Iceland’s most popular attractions.
Day 7 - Departure from Iceland
Spend the morning relaxing at your leisure or time before your private transfer back to the airport for your return flight home.
