Vietnam

Vietnam is steeped culture, traditional and modern day contrasts making it an exciting country for a family holiday.

Blessed with a wonderful coastline, luscious forested mountains and an abundant wildlife there’s no shortage of ecological gemsIt’s rich heritage, cultural and ethnic diversity and wonderful scenery make it a great destination to experience the best that South East Asia has to offer. Vietnam is an engaging and captivating country to explore and you can easily break it into different chunks to mix cities, beaches and mountain stays that will be both different and memorable.

It will be difficult to know where to start on your adventure. One way to decide where is to be guided by the time of year. The long thin nature of the country means that the climate differs greatly by area so it’s wise to pick the area that has the best weather for the time of year that you want to go.

Why we love Vietnam Family Holidays

  • See the limestone karsts of Halong Bay

  • Visit the famous Chu Chi Tunnels

  • Do some shopping at the Mekong Delta floating markets

  • Trek through the Sapa mountains

  • Watch a water puppet show

  • Cruise the Perfume River in Hue

From the scooter filled streets of Ho Chi Minh to the bustling floating markets of the Mekong Delta. The capital Hanoi is one of the oldest and most attractive cities in the region and bears testament to its colonial past, exuding a gracious charm. The cities and towns offer a wealth of contrasting delights from French-colonial houses to Chinese temples and bustling markets.

One of our must-sees on any trip to Vietnam is Halong Bay’s majestic 2000 pinnacles of limestone karst. Whilst for much of the year the area is shielded in mist, and the picture perfect sunny pictures you normally see are the exception rather than the rule we think that it is still worth a visit to experience its magnitude. Legend has it a dragon crash landed in the gulf and caused the islets to form – we think that might just be true!

For some relaxation after the hustle and bustle of the cities, Vietnam’s beaches lie in the southern half of the country, from Danang through Hoi An and Nha Trang to the idyllic island of Con Dao in the South China Sea.  You can enjoy some much needed downtime in one of the many hotels.

When to Visit

The best time to visit Vietnam is between November and April as this is when the country experiences the least amount of rainfall.
