Zambia

Unspolit, friendly and exclusive experiences make Zambia family holidays an unforgettable experience.

Zambia is considered one of the most beautiful, friendly and varied countries in Africa. With a relatively low volume of tourism, Zambia can focus on superb experiences, combining action – packed safaris and game drives with luxury laid-back lakeside beach retreats. As Zambia offers a slightly more authentic safari experience, which may not make it the first choice for a family holiday. Many of the camps are small and owner run, meaning they can offer the very best in ‘home from home’ personal service, tailoring the experience to your individual family needs. The guides provided by the camps are real experts and will add to your unforgettable visit to Zambia.

Why we love Zambia Family Holidays

  • Breathtaking views at Victoria Falls

  • Home of the walking safari

  • Enjoy a bush sleepout

  • Private family game drives

  • Whitewater rafting on the Zambezi

Zambia is where you will find the glorious Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and experience the mighty Victoria Falls plunge majestically into the narrow Batoka Gorge. The falls are known locally as ‘smoke that thunders’. Safari National Parks abound in Zambia. From the remote Lunga Park in the North West, the Nsumbu Park on the shores of beautiful Lake Tanganyika and the Lower Zambezi Park where the famous Zambezi River cuts through the landscape and is home to hippos, crocodiles, elephants and buffalos. All the Parks are bristling with wildlife and also each slightly different giving some great contrast and mixed opportunities for safari experiences.

Zambia is the home of the walking safari, so if your children are older than 12 this is a perfect opportunity for them to get really close to some of the wildlife, flora and fauna. The famous annual festival known as Kuomboka takes place in Western Zambia as the ceremonial journey of the King of Lozi takes place amid much splendour, colour, music and dance.

When to Visit

The dry season runs from June to September meaning little to no rain, warmer day temperatures and great game viewing. Whenever you visit Zambia, the temperatures are cooler at night and early mornings making it necessary for some warmer layers.
