Thailand

It’s laid back welcoming vibe and picture perfect islands make for a great family holiday in Thailand.

A family holiday to Thailand is a good first step into your Asian adventures. Speedboat adventures around some of the picture perfect islands offer the chance to do some snorkelling, see more of the coastline, see wild monkeys (although I would recommend keeping your distance).

A stop off in Bangkok on the way allows you to experience the hustle and bustle of the city and take in some of the capital’s many parks and outdoor spaces as well as the famous Golden Palace and the iconic temples of Wat Pho, Wat Arun and Wat Phra Kaew

Why we love Thailand Family Holidays

  • Ride a tuk tuk through the streets of Bangkok

  • Visit the Golden Palace

  • Cruise the rivers on a bamboo raft

  • Sleep in a floating house

  • Visit an ethical elephant sanctuary

  • Walk the Bridge on the River Kwai

  • Visit the islands and sea caves

  • See the limestone formations at Phi Phi Island

With so much to see it can be hard to choose where to begin. Thailand is known for its superb tropical beaches, ornate temples, rain forest ruins and resplendent royal palace, not to mention its warmth and friendliness. Thailand boasts some of the best beaches in the world. You’ll find just a few mentioned here but there’s plenty more we are only too pleased to recommend. Some of the most amazing palm fringed beaches are to be found at Patong on Phuket, whilst Railay beach on Krabi, only accessed by boat, has great rock climbing and bouldering, The long beach at Koh Lanta is also a top venue where the restaurants are right on the beach and the swimming is glorious in warm waters and soft sand sea beds.

Make a memorable day out and hire a private junk boat to see the waters of Phang Nga Bay, which feature amazing limestone karsts that rise majestically out of the bay including the famous James Bond Island of Koh Ta Pu. The Koh Phi Phi islands can be crowded and its advisable to watch out for the monkeys that will happily steal your food in front of you, but they are certainly lively and fun.

If you are seeking some time away from the beaches some of the many National Parks offer great wildlife trails and trekking to see some of the country’s wildlife, including elephants in their natural habitat. Or, take a trip from Bangkok to see the historical sights of the Bridge over the River Kwai. Stopping at some of the country’s beautiful waterfalls along the way.
